So within our yard, we have two types of trees:

1. Beneficial                                    and                                 2. Edible

The Eastern Redbud Cercis canadensi:

It’s a wonderful fuchsia bloomer in the springtime and very leafy green during the year, both beneficial and edible

The Juneberry Tree (Amelanchier spp.)

The tree itself is not edible; however, the berries that are produced by the tree are very much edible. We have a row of 3 of these in our yard. in 2016 we harvested the fall berries from our trees and made about a dozen mason jars of jam.
